Chris Daukaus slumps Porter in with R1 KO on UFC 252 Early Prelims
Chris Daukaus steals the show in the UFC 252 Early Prelims with emphatic win over Parker Porter via Round 1 KO (4:28)
Chris Daukaus (8-3) made his UFC debut after a KO victory Danny Holmes at CFFC 77, bringing his total KO finishes to 7 of 8. He takes on Parker Porter (10-5) who himself is no stranger to finishes with 4 KOs and 4 submission victories. Daukus has a 3 inch height and slight reach advantage but is significantly outweighed by Porter by 23.5 lbs.
Daukaus started the first round very strong using his length and range to strike at will against Porter. Although Porter’s weight advantage became much more obvious as they faced off, Daukaus finessed his reach to expertly strike at distance. When Porter forced the clinch Daukaus was able to cradle him and strike with impunity from above. Daukaus’ arm cartoonishly contorted their way onto legal targets.
It was only a matter of time with Daukaus picking and choosing his shots, before he dropped Porter near the end of the first round. Porter was peppered with ground and pound but was able to work his way back up. Daukaus remained focused and imposed his combinations upon Porter. The accuracy and power of the right hand stunned Porter and walked him down onto the back foot. Porter slumped into the cage after another right hand only to suffer a finishing knee to the face. Porter was on his back rocked and rattled as Herb Dean made the confident and timely stoppage.
