Bellator 230: Light Heavyweights feature in return to Milan

Bellator returns to Italy with Bellator 230 in Milan on October 12. The card airs on tape delay on Paramount Networks at 4pm ET. The main event features Melvin Manhoef (31-14-1) vs Yannick Bahati (9-4-0) going head to head at Light heavyweight. The co main event features former Bellator Middleweight Champion Rafael Carvalho (16-3) taking on Vadim Nemkov (10-2-0) also at Light heavyweight.

Manhoef suffered back to back losses against then Middleweight Champion Rafael Carvalho before bouncing back in his most recent fight with a unanimous decision win against Kent Kauppinen. Yannick Bahati recently snapped his own unpleasant three fight skid with a first round kimura over Amir Dadovic (8-4).

Rafael Carvalho finally got back in the win column against Chidi Njokuani with a unanimous decision at Bellator 224. He is on the road back to regaining his title after losing it to Gegard Mousasi in the first round at Bellator 200. He could have looked for a tune up fight with a less experienced opponent, but Carvalho went out of the frying pan and into the fire with his next bout against legendary Lyoto Machida in a decision loss at Bellator 213.

Vadim Nemkov is currently undefeated in Bellator and riding high on a five fight win streak that includes four of five finishes. The former Rizin fighter likes to end his bouts early, with three first round finishes during his win streak, including a 0:55 second ground and pound. This type of opponent doesn’t seem out of character for Carvalho and has potential to steal the show.
