Vinicius Moreira 0-3 in UFC after RNC loss to Paul Craig
Vicinius Moreira (9-4) earned his UFC contract with a second round submission of John Allen on DWCS: Brazil 3. Since joining the UFC he has lost both of his fights in the very first round and kept the streak alive with his submission loss to Paul Craig in Mexico City at UFC on ESPN+ 17.
Paul ‘Bearjew’ Craig (12-4) himself is 4-4 in UFC as has yet to put together back to back wins. However all eight results have been finishes. He has found the submission in all four of his wins, including a rear naked choke at 3:19 of the first round against a skidding Moreira.
To be fair Moreira’s other two losses were against a deadly focused Eryk Anders coming off a three fight skid and developmental prospect Alonzo Menifield, whom Paul Craig also has a loss to.
Having yet to see the second round in the UFC, Moreira likely has one fight left on his contract, making his next out a must win, if he doesn’t get cut altogether. It wouldn’t be out of character for him to be fed to a surging prospect to build another fighter’s brand on his way out of the promotion.
This result pushes the overall UFC record for DWCS products to 90-70-2.
